A Letter to My Person

First of all, Thank you.
I don't know if I could ever truly find the words to thank you for everything your friendship has given me, but I'm going to try. When we first met,  I never could've imagined we would be where were are now. And now that I know you, it doesn't surprise me at all. Everyone who is lucky enough to meet you, loves you. I can't even blame the random strangers who you attract, because I was once that person. And now I have the most special friendship I could ever ask for. 

I've honestly never had a friend like you.
I've never had a friend as close as we are. I've had tons of friends... lasting best friends for years and years. ​Those friends don't usually notice when I'm in a low place. They don't take the time to recognize my habits, good and bad. Having a friend that can read my mood from the look on my face can be scary, but really it's amazing. It's amazing to have someone in your life who knows you so well, and they know you so well because they love you. There are very few friends I've cried in front of, let alone be in full breakdown mode, sitting on the kitchen floor wanting to die. Most people would run if that happened. You have proven time and time again that you are here to stay.

You will always be the strongest person I know.
You've been dealt the shitty hand a whole lot and you always make it. I wish on your hardest days that I could snap my fingers and everything would be better. When you hurt, I hurt. I know better than anyone how easy it is to get in a slump and want to sleep for days, weeks even months just to make everything going wrong, go away. But most days you still get up and keep pushing. Your strength amazes me everyday and is one of the reasons why you're so loved by so many. I am so proud of you. But I want you to know that just because you're strong enough to handle it, doesn't mean you deserve it. 

Because you deserve the world. 
You shouldn't have to say "I'm used to it." You deserve happiness. Look at how happy the woman in this photo is. That's my best friend. The smiling, laughing and dancing Martha Stewart is who we love to see. You deserve to be treated like the special wife and mother that you are. You are constantly doing things for other people. Expect the same back. 

I'm not going anywhere.
We are going to argue and disagree. It's a downfall of being alike. We're not always going to say what we want to hear, but what we need to hear. And when we disagree, we have quiet weeks. And the quiet weeks break my heart. But I know sometimes they're necessary.  But no matter what, I am still here. I am not going anywhere. And I hope to God that you always call when you need me. 

You will always be My Person.
I love you more than anyone. You will always be my person. You will always be my family. Never doubt that. I have never put so much effort into a friendship or been so scared to lose  anyone in my life. And for this, I am grateful.
